We plan to provide a venue
available to local artists who wish to promote their
artwork while working hand in hand with local and
regional galleries as well as any organizations who also
seek to promote the arts. We believe that the arts are
critical in the
growth of communities and we want to be part of those
exciting times. We're calling our venue "Spotlights".
Noting that art galleries are well worth the service
they provide, one question for you remains; will they
accept & show my artwork?
The answer is often, "It's hard to get sponsored by the
major galleries unless you build a name for yourself".
So, if you are at a stage in your
life as an artist where you desire to sell your artwork
but also are wondering where you can exhibit
your pieces, we think we can help. First of all, we do
not jury artwork therefore you cannot be rejected. At
Spotlights you can
display your artwork and potentially have thousands of
people view it not to mention, wouldn't it be great if
they sold?
The Tunkhannock Business and Professional Association (TBPA)
along with other groups sponsor various events which
bring people
to town from all around - it's a great time for the
merchants and the artists to capture the audience. There
have traditionally been two main events that united
large groups of people, 'Christmas in Our Hometown'
(beginning of December) and 'Founder's Day'
(the end of June), together they draw over 10,000
people. Also, an Annual Festive event known as 'Airing
of the Quilts' (start of October) is beginning to raise
eyes...
Experience this for yourself by
visiting Tunkhannock during these events.
